About Me

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night (depending on where about’s you’re reading from!). Welcome to my humble abode of general ramblings of my life, hobbies, and various other miscellaneous schemes I go by the name of Aaron Donohoe, I’m 17 from Dublin, Ireland. Although I go by many nicknames - none of which will be mentioned here  My internet alias “madringo” has no imediate meaning, it’s just one of those random usernames I’ve come up with. I’ve been involved in web design, and blogging since around 2004, although my websites then were small, tacky, HTML with minimal formatting piles of horse manure. Although, it’s understandable - everyone has to start from somewhere. I thought myself HTML, and CSS through various tutorial sites, and through notes my Mam had for when she did various web design courses - my main tool at the time was FrontPage Express, a rather basic tool used for making simple HTML websites. I tended to only use it for updates to websites instead of initial contruction, as I knew myself I wouldn’t learn anything if I let a HTML generator do all the work for me! I began blogging around the same time, firstly starting off on Blogger, a recommended starting point for any blogger who is still grasping the concept - I only grasped the concept of revenue earning from Blogging in July of this year, upto the this blog was solely used as a personal diary for my rambles. Now I earn a nice revenue income, nothing to live off - but enough to cover my expenses and invest in futher projects. I wouldn’t use the term “Internet Entrepreneur” just yet, as TBH, an “Entrepreneur” is someone who assesses the risk, and then takes the risk after seeing the opportunity or the niche. Maybe in a few years time, I could become an “Internet Entrepreneur” - after building onto my active websites portfolio. Presently, none of my sites are anything special! Now regarding this place! As I said I began blogging in 2004, over on Blogger. My account is still active, but I’ve (stupidly) erased all my postings. I acquired the domain madringo.com in June 2006, and it has, and always will be a Wordpress blog - and a personal blog at that. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve considered going into “Commercial Blog Development”, but I like this blog as it is - personal! I know most of my regular readers, and requent their blogs recently, I work on the “U Comment, I Follow” fraternity! Aside from Web Development, I have a pretty substantial interest in vintage vehicles, and their preservation in particular. I play a moderate role in the preservation of vintage buses, fire engines, and cars with the Motor Vehicle Preservation Society of Ireland - where I can exercise many of my hobbies and interests of web management, mechanics and of course photography - not forgetting the craic you have on runs and overnights or working weekends in Cork or Belfast! - Most of which I blog about! I’ve only been a preservationalist myself since for the past two years, when I acquired my first bus! Becoming - at the time, one of the youngest preservationalists in the Republic of Ireland - being only 16 at the time! My Bus - 355 SZB, is a 1971 Leyland Leopard that operated, and was well known in Cork (the Midleton area especially)! It has since become the flagship vehicle of the Motor Vehicle Preservation Society of Ireland bus fleet, and one of the highly recognised preserved vehicles from the Republic of Ireland. Other than that nothing really out of the ordinary happens with my life! I’m a 5th year student, weird sense of humour, do the odd bit of sports, as well as socialising, don’t smoke or drink (much!), enjoy most music genres, and if I’m not out rambling around with friends, or old rust buckets - then you’ll find me in front of the PC either coding up some new venture I’m embarking on, or else working on the blog…if I’m not asleep on the sofa

Below: A video of 355 SZB, out and about in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 11/November/2007.
